The Secretariat is headed by the Secretary and Chief Executive Officer who manages the day to day activities. The Secretariat is composed of four departments ie Regulatory Affairs Department (RAD), Regulatory Support Services Department (RSSD), Finance and Planning Department (FPD) and Human Resource and Administration Department (HR&AD).
The Atomic Energy Council (AEC) is a government statutory body established by the Atomic Energy Act Cap 154, Laws of Uganda to regulate the peaceful applications of ionizing radiation for the protection and safety of individuals, society and the environment from dangers resulting from ionizing radiation.
